Padmabhushan (Dr.) guru Ammannur Madhavachakyar, the Living Legend and Kulapathy of Kutiyattam is going to complete his 90^th birth day on May 8,2007. 

This is a right occasion to celebrate great Guru’s Navathi, who made the total effort to bring up Kutiyattam internationally acclaimed and to be recognized by the UNESCO.

Here at Ammannur Chachuchakyar Smaraka Gurukulam conducted a meeting by his own disciples and well  wishers had decided to celebrate this event as a festival namely
 “GURU PRANAMAM” on 11,12,13 May 2007. There will be international seminars based on different levels of Kutiyattam, performances of national level artists on Dance, Music, Kutiyattam and Kathakali and a congratulation ceremony on which politically, culturally, socially well known personalities will be included and hence to bring the birthday event as a national level festival.
